Mai lief die 20-j\u00e4hrige G\u00fcltigkeit des Wurzelzertifikats ab <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/crt.sh\/?id=1\">AddTrust<\/a><\/noindex>, der <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/support.sectigo.com\/articles\/Knowledge\/Sectigo-AddTrust-External-CA-Root-Expiring-May-30-2020\">wurde verwendet<\/a><\/noindex>  zur Erstellung einer cross-signierten Signatur in den Zertifikaten eines der gr\u00f6\u00dften Zertifizierungsstellen, Sectigo (Comodo). Die cross-signierte Signatur stellte die Kompatibilit\u00e4t mit \u00e4lteren Ger\u00e4ten sicher, in deren Speicher f\u00fcr Wurzelzertifikate das neue Wurzelzertifikat USERTrust nicht hinzugef\u00fcgt wurde. <\/p>\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/support.sectigo.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka03l000000Y6d5&#038;feoid=00N1N00000Oytzq&#038;refid=0EM3l000002YZ1C\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Die Veraltung des Root-Zertifikats AddTrust f\u00fchrte zu St\u00f6rungen in Systemen mit OpenSSL und GnuTLS.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/f5c4251fb99f51bb8ea11e7cd0a7acf5.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Theoretisch h\u00e4tte das Ablaufen des Wurzelzertifikats AddTrust lediglich zu Kompatibilit\u00e4tsproblemen mit \u00e4lteren Systemen (Android 2.3, Windows XP, Mac OS X 10.11, iOS 9 usw.) f\u00fchren sollen, da das zweite Wurzelzertifikat, das in der cross-signierten Signatur verwendet wird, weiterhin g\u00fcltig ist und moderne Browser es bei der \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung der Vertrauenskette ber\u00fccksichtigen. In der Praxis <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.agwa.name\/blog\/post\/fixing_the_addtrust_root_expiration\">wurden<\/a><\/noindex> Probleme bei der \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung der cross-signierten Signatur in TLS-Clients festgestellt, die keine Browser verwenden, einschlie\u00dflich solcher auf Basis von OpenSSL 1.0.x und GnuTLS. Zudem gibt es Probleme in verschiedenen Ruby-, PHP- und Python-Skripten, die das http-Client-Modul verwenden. In den Browsern gibt es Probleme mit <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/gnutls\/gnutls\/-\/issues\/1008\">Bluetooth-Stack und h\u00e4ngt mit der fehlerhaften Verarbeitung der Berechtigung BLUETOOTH_PRIVILEGED bei setPhonebookAccessPermission zusammen. Bei den als gef\u00e4hrlich eingestuften Schwachstellen wurden 7 Probleme in Frameworks und Anwendungen, 4 in Systemkomponenten, 2 im Kernel und 10 in offenen und propriet\u00e4ren Komponenten f\u00fcr Qualcomm-Chips behoben.<\/a><\/noindex> Epiphany, in dem die Blocklisten f\u00fcr Werbung nicht mehr geladen werden.<\/p>\n<p>Programme in Go sind nicht betroffen, da in Go <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/golang.org\/pkg\/crypto\/tls\/\">eigene Implementierung<\/a><\/noindex> TLS.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/linux\/comments\/gshh70\/sectigo_root_ca_expiring_may_not_be_handled_well\/\">Es wurde angenommen<\/a><\/noindex>, dass das Problem \u00e4ltere Versionen von Distributionen betrifft (einschlie\u00dflich Debian 9, Ubuntu 16.04, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.redhat.com\/show_bug.cgi?id=1842174\">RHEL 6\/7<\/a><\/noindex>) in denen problematische OpenSSL-Zweige verwendet werden, das Problem <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/jitsi\/jitsi-meet\/issues\/6918\">trat jedoch<\/a><\/noindex> auch beim Arbeiten mit dem Paketmanager APT in den aktuellen Versionen Debian 10 und Ubuntu 18.04\/20.04 auf, da APT die GnuTLS-Bibliothek verwendet. Der Kern des Problems liegt darin, dass viele TLS\/SSL-Bibliotheken das Zertifikat als lineare Kette interpretieren, w\u00e4hrend gem\u00e4\u00df RFC 4158 das Zertifikat einen gerichteten, verteilten Zyklographen mit mehreren Vertrauensanker darstellen kann, die ber\u00fccksichtigt werden m\u00fcssen. Diese Fehlentwicklung in OpenSSL und GnuTLS <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/rt.openssl.org\/Ticket\/Display.html?user=guest&#038;pass=guest&#038;id=3359\">es<\/a><\/noindex> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugs.launchpad.net\/ubuntu\/+source\/openssl\/+bug\/101464\">ist bekannt<\/a><\/noindex> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.redhat.com\/show_bug.cgi?id=1142137\">besteht schon seit vielen Jahren<\/a><\/noindex>.
