H.266 wird als Nachfolger des Standards H.265 (HEVC) angesehen, der gemeinsam von den Arbeitsgruppen <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moving_Picture_Experts_Group\">MPEG<\/a><\/noindex> (ISO\/IEC JTC 1) und <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Video_Coding_Experts_Group\">VCEG<\/a><\/noindex> (ITU-T), mit Beteiligung von Unternehmen wie Apple, Ericsson, Intel, Huawei, Microsoft, Qualcomm und Sony entwickelt wurde. Die Ver\u00f6ffentlichung einer Referenzimplementierung von Encoder und Decoder f\u00fcr H.266\/VVC wird f\u00fcr den Herbst erwartet.<\/p>\n<p>H.266\/VVC bietet eine hohe Effizienz bei der \u00dcbertragung und Speicherung aller Bildschirmaufl\u00f6sungen (von SD und HD bis 4K und 8K), unterst\u00fctzt Video mit erweitertem dynamischen Bereich (HDR, High Dynamic Range) sowie 360-Grad-Panorama-Video. Es unterst\u00fctzt den Farbraum YCbCr mit chromatischen Umwandlungen 4:4:4 und 4:2:2, einer Farbentiefe von 10 bis 16 Bit pro Kanal sowie Hilfsstreams f\u00fcr Daten wie Tiefe und Transparenz.<\/p>\n<p>Im Vergleich zu H.265 (HEVC) zeigt der neue Standard eine signifikante Erh\u00f6hung der Kompressionseffizienz und erm\u00f6glicht es, bei \u00e4hnlichen Bitraten das Datenvolumen um etwa 50% zu reduzieren, ohne die Bildqualit\u00e4t zu verlieren. Zum Beispiel ben\u00f6tigte ein 90-min\u00fctiges UHD-Video in H.265 10 GB Daten, w\u00e4hrend H.266 dies mit 5 GB bei gleichbleibender Qualit\u00e4t erm\u00f6glicht. Im Vergleich schneidet das AV1-Format bei der Kompressionseffizienz <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bitmovin.com\/av1-multi-codec-dash-dataset\/\">besser ab als<\/a><\/noindex> HEVC mit einem Durchschnitt von 17% (bei hohen Bitraten sogar um 30-43%).<\/p>\n<p>Der Preis f\u00fcr die gesteigerte Kompressionseffizienz ist eine erhebliche Komplexit\u00e4tssteigerung der Algorithmen, was zu h\u00f6heren Anforderungen an die Rechenressourcen f\u00fchrt (bis zu 10-mal mehr beim Kodieren und bis zu 2-mal mehr beim Dekodieren im Vergleich zu H.265). Im Gegensatz zum AV1-Videokomprimierungsformat erfordert die Verwendung von H.266\/VVC in eigenen Produkten die Zahlung von Lizenzgeb\u00fchren.
