Dennoch kann diese Berechtigung von einem unprivilegierten Benutzer in Containern erlangt werden, die auf Systemen mit aktivierter Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr Benutzer-Namensr\u00e4ume (user namespaces) erstellt werden. Beispielsweise sind Benutzer-Namensr\u00e4ume standardm\u00e4\u00dfig in Ubuntu und Fedora aktiviert, jedoch nicht in Debian und RHEL. In Android hat der Prozess mediaserver das Recht, AF_PACKET-Sockets zu erstellen, wodurch die Schwachstelle ausgenutzt werden kann.<\/p>\n

Die Schwachstelle ist in der Funktion tpacket_rcv vorhanden und wird durch einen Fehler bei der Berechnung der Variablen netoff verursacht. Ein Angreifer kann Bedingungen schaffen, unter denen ein Wert kleiner als die Variable maclen in netoff geschrieben wird, was zu einem \u00dcberlauf bei der Berechnung von \"macoff = netoff - maclen\" und der falschen anschlie\u00dfenden Festlegung des Zeigers auf den Puffer f\u00fcr eingehende Daten f\u00fchrt. Infolgedessen kann ein Angreifer eine Schreiboperation von 1 bis 10 Bytes in den Bereich au\u00dferhalb des zugewiesenen Puffers initiieren. Es wird darauf hingewiesen, dass ein Exploit in Entwicklung ist, der den Erhalt von Root-Rechten im System erm\u00f6glicht. <\/p>\n
