April 2021 wird die offizielle \u00f6ffentliche Unterst\u00fctzung der Distribution Ubuntu 16.04 eingestellt. F\u00fcr Benutzer, die ihre Systeme nicht rechtzeitig auf Ubuntu 18.04 oder 20.04 umstellen k\u00f6nnen, wurde wie bei fr\u00fcheren LTS-Versionen ein ESM-Programm (Extended Security Maintenance) angeboten, das die Ver\u00f6ffentlichung von Updates zur Behebung von Sicherheitsanf\u00e4lligkeiten f\u00fcr den Kernel und die wichtigsten Systempakete bis April 2024 verl\u00e4ngert.
