Basalt SPO has announced the release of the Simply Linux 9.1 distribution, built on the ninth ALT platform. The product is distributed under a licensing agreement that does not transfer the right to distribute the distribution but allows both individuals and legal entities to use the system without limitations. The distribution is available in builds for x86_64, i586, aarch64, armh (armv7a), mipsel, riscv64, e2kv4/e2k (beta) architectures and can run on systems with 512 MB of RAM.
Simply Linux is an easy-to-use system with a classic desktop based on Xfce 4.14, providing full localization of the interface and most applications. The distribution is intended for home systems and corporate workstations. It includes a set of more than thirty applications specially selected for the preferences of Russian users, as well as an extended set of drivers and codecs.

In this release, among various improvements and fixes, support for Vulkan graphics API has been added for x86 systems; UEFI support on ARM platforms has been stabilized; the obs-studio package has been added to the list of selectable packages during installation.
Images for x86 are hybrid and support UEFI (SecureBoot can be left enabled); please note the recommendations for writing to the boot media. The full image also contains a lightweight non-installable LiveCD, and a separate LiveCD is equipped with installation capability.
