New releases of the package manager Pacman 6.0.0 and installer Archinstall 2.2.0 are available for the Arch Linux distribution.
Key changes in Pacman 6.0:
- Added support for downloading files in multiple parallel streams.
- A progress bar output has been implemented for data download indications. To disable the progress indicator in pacman.conf, the option ‘--noprogressbar’ can be specified.
- Automatic skipping of mirrors with a high number of errors is now ensured.
- Mandatory loading of package digital signatures is now enabled, even if the digital signature is embedded in the repository database or the package is in the cache. If the digital signature is absent in the database, signatures stored separately in CacheDir can be used for verification.

Key changes in Archinstall 2.2.0 (recall that starting from the April builds, the installer has been integrated into the Arch Linux installation ISO images):
- Installation profiles have been added for creating servers, as well as for installing the custom environments DeePin, Enlightenment, and Sway.
- Installation profiles for applications Cockpit, docker, apache httpd, lighttpd, mariadb, nginx, postgresql, sshd, and tomcat have been added.
- Support for GRUB as a secondary bootloader has been added.
- The option to select the version of the Linux kernel being installed and to modify kernel parameters has been added.
- In the selection forms, the ability to highlight multiple items at once has been provided.
- Support for loading settings from files in JSON format has been added.
- An advanced mode (‘--advanced’) has been added to the dialog, allowing arbitrary parameter values to be set.
- The ability to activate NTP when selecting a time zone has been provided.
- Keyboard layout selection has been improved.
- Support for EFI and BIOS modes has been added.
