The release of the Proton-6.10-GE-1 project is available, in which enthusiasts create independent enhanced builds of the Proton package for running Windows applications, featuring a newer version of Wine, the use of FFmpeg in FAudio, and the inclusion of additional patches that resolve issues in various gaming applications.
The new version of Proton GE has updated dxvk, vkd3d, steamclient, nvapi, and faudio, transferred patches to improve QPC and LFH performance, and new bcrypt patches are combined with rdr2 patches. Issues with the games Necromunda, Deliver Us the Moon, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core R 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, FarCry, and Origin have been resolved.
Additionally, it is worth noting the update of the Proton Experimental package by Valve, which includes changes being tested for inclusion in the stable branch of Proton. For example, Proton Experimental has been synced with the latest Proton releases (6.3-4), DXVK, and vkd3d-proton, added patches to improve performance in input, window rendering, and memory allocation, improved GPU selection, added support for the NVIDIA NVAPI library (PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1) and NVIDIA DLSS (requires NVIDIA proprietary driver 470 or newer), implemented support for rendering child windows in Vulkan, and added support for the games Resident Evil Village and Forza Horizon 4.
