The second release of starter kits on the ALT Ten platform has been published. These images are suitable for experienced users who prefer to independently define the application package list and configure the system (up to creating their own derivatives) to start working with a stable repository. As composite works, they are distributed under the GPLv2+ license. Options include a basic system and one of the desktop environments or a set of specialized applications.
The builds are prepared for the i586, x86_64, and aarch64 architectures and http://nightly.altlinux.org/p10-armh/release/. Engineering options for p10 have also been compiled (live/install image with engineering software; the installer has been added to allow more precise selection of required additional packages) and cnc-rt (live with a real-time kernel and LinuxCNC software) for x86_64, including realtime tests.
Changes from the summer release:
- Linux kernel std-def 5.10.62 and un-def 5.13.14, in cnc-rt — kernel-image-rt 5.10.52;
- make-initrd 2.22.0, xorg-server 1.20.13, Mesa 21.1.5 with a fix for some tricky situations;
- Firefox ESR 78.13.0;
- NetworkManager 1.32.10;
- KDE KF5/Plasma/SC: 5.85.0 / 5.22.4 / 21.0.4;
- fixed formatting in xfs in the installer;
- improved support for Baikal-M processors in aarch64 iso (patches from p9 kernels have been backported to std-def and un-def kernels for p10);
- aarch64 ISO images have become smaller due to the free space provided in them;
- added GRUB menu "Network installation", which includes methods for booting via nfs, ftp, http, cifs (currently, for ftp and http, you need to specify ramdisk_size in kilobytes, sufficient to accommodate the squashfs image of the second stage).
Known issues:
- enlightenment does not respond to input devices when starting a wayland session through lightdm-gtk-greeter (ALT bug 40244).

The images were compiled using mkimage-profiles 1.4.17+ tagged p10-20210912; ISOs include an archive of the build profile (.disk/profile.tgz) to allow for building custom derivatives (see also the builder option and the mkimage-profiles package within it).
The builds for aarch64 and armh include rootfs archives and qemu images in addition to ISO images; installation instructions and instructions for running in qemu are available for them.
Official distributions of the ALT OS on the Tenth platform are expected throughout the autumn.
