Two months after the release of the mobile platform Android 12, Google has created a version for smart TVs and Android TV set-top boxes, Android TV 12. The platform is currently only available for testing by app developers — ready builds have been prepared for the Google ADT-3 set-top box (including an OTA update) and the Android Emulator for TV. Firmware updates for consumer devices like Google Chromecast are expected in early 2022.
