The release of the experimental branch of the open implementation of WinAPI — Wine 6.23 has taken place. Since version 6.22 was released, 48 bug reports have been closed and 410 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- The CoreAudio driver and the mount point manager have been converted to the PE (Portable Executable) format.
- Support for exception handling has been added in WoW64, the layer for running 32-bit programs on 64-bit Windows.
- An optional feature has been implemented to use PE libraries provided by the distribution instead of libraries supplied with Wine.
- The WineDbg interface has been improved.
- Bug reports related to games have been closed: Layers of Fear, Internet Chess Club (ICC) Dasher 1.5.8, Rockstar Game Launcher, GTA 1997, Crazy Stone.
- Bug reports related to applications have been closed: ICC Dasher 1.5.4, Serif WebPlus X8, Accessible Event Watcher, Sookasa, Windows PowerShell Core 6.2 Preview 2, Navicat V15.0.25, Ashlar Vellum/DrawingBoard 1.00, Insta360 pro Stitcher, outSPOKEN 3.0.
