A corrective release of Firefox 95.0.1 is available, which fixes several issues:
- The issue that prevented opening many Microsoft websites, including www.microsoft.com, docs.microsoft.com, msdn.microsoft.com, support.microsoft.com, answers.microsoft.com, developer.microsoft.com, and visualstudio.microsoft.com has been resolved. When trying to access such sites, the browser displayed a page with the error message MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_OCSP_RESPONSE_FOR_CERT_MISSING. This problem was caused by an error in the implementation of the OCSP Stapling mechanism used by the website, server which during the TLS connection negotiation can send a certificate authority-signed OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) response containing information about the validity of certificates. The issue arose because Microsoft switched to using SHA-2 hashes in OCSP responses, while Firefox did not support messages with such hashes (the transition to a new version of NSS supporting SHA-2 in OCSP was planned for Firefox 96).
- A crash in the WebRender subsystem occurring in Linux environments based on the X11 protocol has been fixed.
- Crashes upon shutdown in Windows have been resolved.
- On Linux systems, issues with the readability of content on some websites due to contrast loss when using a dark theme have been resolved (the browser adapted the background color for the dark theme but did not change the text color, resulting in dark text on a dark background).
