The web interface is built using responsive design methods and can be used on both desktop computers and mobile devices. The code is written in JavaScript (the server-side runs on Node.js) and is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license.
Open MCT allows for displaying streams in a unified interface, both for incoming data and already received data (history analysis), assessing the status of sensors, displaying images from cameras, navigating events using a timeline, visualizing any information, and utilizing different telemetry views (tables, graphs, charts, etc.). The operator can quickly switch between different handlers and data views, resize areas, customize views in a visual editor, and move elements in drag-and-drop mode. The platform is very flexible and can adapt to various applications, forms of information presentation, data types, and sources through plugins.
In NASA's mission control centers, the platform is used for visual analysis of mission parameters related to space vehicle launches and for planning and managing experimental rovers. For the Open MCT community, it can be useful in any applications related to monitoring, planning, analysis, and tracking the performance of systems that generate telemetry data. For example, Open MCT can be used to organize monitoring of Internet of Things devices, servers and computer networks, tracking the status of drones, robots, and various medical systems, visualizing business data, and more.
