Google has released the Chrome 98.0.4758.102 update, which fixes 11 vulnerabilities, including one critical issue actively exploited by attackers (0-day). Details have not yet been disclosed; however, it is known that the vulnerability (CVE-2022-0609) is caused by accessing a memory area after it has been freed (use-after-free) in code related to the Web Animations API.
Other critical vulnerabilities include a buffer overflow in the tab groups system, an integer overflow in the Mojo IPC framework, as well as access to freed memory areas in ANGLE (a layer for translating OpenGL ES calls to OpenGL, Direct3D 9/11, Desktop GL, and Vulkan), code for GPU interactions, and implementations of the File Manager and Webstore APIs.
