The first beta release of FreeBSD 13.1 has been prepared. FreeBSD 13.1-BETA1 is available for amd64, i386, powerpc, powerpc64, powerpc64le, powerpcspe, armv6, armv7, aarch64, and riscv64 architectures. Additionally, images for virtualization systems (QCOW2, VHD, VMDK, raw) and Amazon EC2 cloud environments have been prepared.
Notable changes in the new version include the inclusion of the LLDB debugger build and the utilization of assembler optimizations for PowerPC architectures. For riscv64 and riscv64sf architectures, a build with ASAN, UBSAN, OPENMP, and OFED libraries has been included. A new driver for Intel wireless cards supporting new chips and the 802.11ac standard has been proposed, based on the Linux driver and code from the Linux net80211 subsystem, with its operation in FreeBSD supported by the linuxkpi layer.
