Thomas Anderson from Google has released a preliminary set of patches to implement the use of Qt for rendering interface elements in the Chromium browser on Linux. The changes are currently marked as not ready for deployment and are in the early review stage. Previously, Chromium on the Linux platform supported the GTK library, which is used for displaying window control buttons and file open/save dialog boxes. The ability to build with Qt will allow for a more consistent interface design in Chrome/Chromium across KDE and other Qt-based environments.
