A PPA repository has been prepared for the Ubuntu 22.04 distribution, expected to be released on April 21, containing the qtwayland module. This includes fixes from the Qt 5.15.3 branch, supported by the KDE project, aimed at enhancing Wayland protocol support. The package also includes changes necessary for the proper functioning of qtwayland on systems with proprietary NVIDIA drivers.
Additionally, there are plans to add the proposed package to Debian, after which it will be officially integrated into Ubuntu and its derivative distributions. It is worth noting that after the Qt Company restricted access to the repository with source texts for Qt 5.15, the KDE project took over the maintenance of publicly available patches for this branch.
