The release of the specialized distribution Tails 5.3 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), based on the Debian package base and designed for anonymous internet browsing, has been finalized. Anonymous access in Tails is provided by the Tor system. All connections, except traffic through the Tor network, are blocked by a packet filter by default. Encryption is used for storing user data in persistence mode between sessions. An ISO image has been prepared for download, capable of running in Live mode, with a size of 1 GB.
The new release features an updated version of Tor Browser 11.5.1 and reintroduced the code for installing the uBlock extension. The new version of Tor Browser 11.5.1 is synchronized with the Firefox 91.12.0 ESR codebase, which has fixed two vulnerabilities.
