The Ubuntu RescuePack 22.10 build is available for free download, allowing a complete antivirus scan to detect and remove various types of malware, computer viruses, trojans, rootkits, worms, spyware, and ransomware without booting the main operating system. The size of the bootable Live image is 3.5 GB (x86_64).
It includes antivirus packages ESET NOD32 4, BitDefender, COMODO, McAfee, Avira, eScan, Vba32, and ClamAV (ClamTk). The disk is also equipped with tools for recovering deleted files and partitions and allows working with VeraCrypt and BitLocker crypto-containers. It supports data scanning in FAT, FAT32, exFAT, NTFS, HFS, HFS+, btrfs, e2fs, ext2, ext3, ext4, jfs, nilfs, reiserfs, reiser4, xfs, and zfs file systems. Using an external boot disk prevents malware from counteracting the neutralization and recovery of the infected system. This build can be seen as a Linux alternative to disks like Dr.Web LiveDisk and Kaspersky Rescue Disk.
In the new version:
- The antivirus databases (October 2022) for all antivirus programs on the disk have been updated: ESET, BitDefender, COMODO, eScan, ClamAV, Vba32, Avira, McAfee.
- The ClamAV antivirus has been updated to version 0.103.6.
- The Avira antivirus core has been updated to version 8.3.64.202.
- Sophos Anti-Virus has been removed.
- R-Studio 5.1.191044, VeraCrypt 1.25.9, Firefox 105, OpenVPN 2.5.7 have been updated.
- The Ubuntu package base has been updated (as of October 2022).
