NTC IT ROSA has released a corrective version of the freely distributable and community-developed ROSA Fresh 12.4 distribution, built on the rosa2021.1 platform. Builds formatted for the x86_64 platform are available for free download in variants with KDE Plasma 5, LXQt, GNOME, Xfce, and without a GUI. Users who already have the ROSA Fresh R12 distribution installed will receive the update automatically.
Key Changes:
- The package base has been updated. The Linux kernel has been updated to version 6.1.20 (previously supplied branches 5.10 and 5.15 continue to be supported).
- Additional drivers for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have been updated: Realtek 8188gu, 8192du, 8723du, 8812au, 8814au, 8821au, 8821cu, 8852au, 88x2bu, rtw89 (8852ae, 8852be, 8853ce), rtk_btusb, Broadcom WL.
- Support for Realtek wired network cards with RTL8111, RTL8168, and RTL8411 chips has been improved, and a separate kernel module r8168 has been added.
- The linux-firmware package has been updated. The rtk_btusb-firmware package has been added to support additional hardware, primarily wireless cards.
- Proprietary drivers for NVIDIA graphics cards 340, 390, 470, 510, 515, 520, and 525 have been updated. To find and install the necessary driver version, you can use the command 'sudo kroko-cli autoinstall.'
- New versions of the update indicator and console help (termhelper), developed by the ROSA project, have been proposed.
- Support has been added for installation on encrypted partitions without entering a password at boot.
- The launch delay during installation on BTRFS without a separate /boot partition in ext2/3/4 has been eliminated (in such configurations, the functionality for saving the last loaded entry in Grub is automatically disabled).
- Issues with the 'reboot' command in kickstart scripts have been resolved.
