Google has introduced a series of improvements to the Chrome address bar:
- When auto-completing URLs, any previously used keyword for searching a site will be considered, not just words that match the beginning of the address. For instance, the auto-completion for the address "https://www.google.com/travel/flights" will trigger not only by typing "google," but also by entering "flights."
- Automatic correction of typos when entering a website address has been implemented, providing relevant suggestions based on sites previously visited by the user. For example, typing "youutube" will suggest opening YouTube.com. This feature is enabled for Chrome users starting today.
- It is now possible to search within bookmark folders through the address bar. For instance, when typing the name of a bookmarks folder, Chrome will suggest links from that folder relevant to the entered keyword. For example, entering "поездки 2023 новы" will suggest links from the "поездки 2023" bookmarks folder related to New Vasuki and New Urenoy.
- Recommendations for popular sites will be displayed, even if the user has not visited them before or made a mistake while entering the URL. For instance, when a user attempts to open Google Earth by typing "googleear" without knowing the exact address, the browser will suggest going to earth.google.com. This change is available for Chrome users starting today.
- In Chrome for desktop systems, the readability of information in the address bar has been improved, and the interface responsiveness has increased—the results are now displayed immediately after the user starts typing.
