On October 26, 2023, the Qucs-S electronic circuit simulator was released. The recommended simulation engine for Qucs-S is Ngspice.
Release 2.1.0 includes significant changes. Here is a list of the main ones.
- Added a tuner mode simulation (see screenshot), which allows you to adjust component values with sliders and view the results on graphs. A similar tool is available in AWR, for example.
- For Ngspice, support for components defined in the frequency domain using s2p files has been added (requires Ngspice-41).
- The toolbar icons have been redesigned. Now, SVG icons are used for buttons, and component icons are generated dynamically. This enhances the appearance for HiDPI.
- The dialog window displaying the simulation progress has been redesigned.
- Creating a separate DPL file for diagrams is disabled by default. Diagrams are now placed on the schematic.
- A function to zoom in on a selected area of the circuit has been added.
- Several new passive components have been added.
- New libraries have been added: optoelectronic components and thyristors.
- The translation into Russian has been updated.
- Bugs have been fixed.
