The experimental release of the open implementation of WinAPI — Wine 8.20 has taken place. Since the release of version 8.19, 20 bug reports have been closed and 397 changes made.
The most significant changes:
- Development of the DirectMusic API has continued.
- The winegstreamer library has been enhanced. Support has been added for the functions find_element_factories, factory_create_element, wg_muxer_add_stream, wg_muxer_start, wg_muxer_push_sample, ProcessSample.
- Exporting bindings to the main user environment for protocol handlers running under Wine has been ensured.
- Code cleaning has been conducted in preparation for the upcoming freeze of the codebase before the release of Wine 9.0, which is expected in January.
- In d3d10core and d3d11, the functionality of the validation calls test_texture(), test_cube_maps(), test_uint_shader_instructions(), test_vertex_formats(), and test_mipmap_upload() has been established.
- A DLL library msttsengine has been added, implementing a stub for ISpTTSEngine.
- Safe clearing of fields has been ensured using the SecureZeroMemory() function in the dssenh, secur32, user32, winscard, wintrust, wsdapi, and wininet libraries.
- About 30 new functions for working with multibyte strings, such as _mblen_l and _mbsnbcpy_l, have been added to the msvcrt library.
- Bug reports related to application functionality have been closed: Folio Views 4, Captvty V3, NAM (NeuralAmpModeler), Spectralayers 9 Pro.
- Bug reports related to game functionality have been closed: Max Payne (2001), Warframe, Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete.
