An unofficial version of the Vivaldi browser is now available on Flathub, prepared by one of the company's employees.
The unofficial status of the package is dictated by various factors, one of which is uncertainty about how safe the Chromium 'sandbox' is when launched in a Flatpak environment. If no significant security issues arise in the future, the browser will be moved to official status.
The arrival of Vivaldi Flatpak will expand the installation options for the browser across various distributions without the need to prepare specialized packages. Additionally, despite its unofficial status, Vivaldi developers will handle bug reports for this version just like all others, to promptly implement necessary fixes.
