The third release after Red Hat Enterprise Linux is Alma Linux 8.9.
This distribution is notable for moving away from a 1:1 cloning approach after Red Hat decided to implement a redistribution ban and not join the OpenELA association. The distribution includes a repository featuring packages that differ from Red Hat Enterprise Linux — Synergy. One of the highlights of this repository is the Pantheon environment from ElementaryOS.

However, it should be noted that Oracle is developing its Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel R7, which provides new kernel features more rapidly, and is also developing application products for Oracle Linux, such as VirtualBox, and also for RHEL.
