According to the plan announced by Carlos Soriano Sanchez, the graphical server X.org and its related components will be removed from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. The release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 is scheduled for 2025, while CentOS Stream 10 is set for 2024. XWayland will be used to support applications that require X11.
Thus, by 2029 (when the first phase of support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 ends), we should expect the first hardware that does not support X11. Currently, support for X11 hardware is a necessary condition for the operation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9 and CentOS Stream 8/9 on the X11 protocol.
