Introducing the Fedora Asahi Remix 39 distribution, designed for installation on Mac computers equipped with ARM chips developed by Apple. Fedora Asahi Remix 39 is based on the Fedora Linux 39 package base and features the Calamares installer. This is the first release published after the Asahi project transitioned from Arch to Fedora. The development of Fedora Asahi Remix is handled by the Fedora Asahi SIG, and this transition will allow the Asahi Linux team to focus on hardware reverse engineering without expending resources on distribution support.
The release supports operation on Apple MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, Mac Studio, and iMac systems equipped with M1 and M2 chips. KDE Plasma is included as the primary user environment, with an optional GNOME-based variant available. Both editions utilize Wayland, and the DDX server XWayland is used to run X11 applications. Graphic drivers support OpenGL 3.3 and OpenGL ES 3.1. The sound subsystem of Apple computers is fully supported.
