Wirth is known for his involvement in the development of programming languages such as Algol, Modula, and Oberon. However, perhaps the most famous result of his work is the Pascal programming language, with which entire generations of students began their programming journey. He was also instrumental in the creation and popularization of the paradigm of structured programming, which was revolutionary at the time. He is the author of books on algorithms and data structures.
