The release of the specialized distribution Tails 5.22 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), based on the Debian package base and designed for anonymous internet access, has been formed. Anonymous access in Tails is provided by the Tor network. All connections, except for traffic through the Tor network, are automatically blocked by the packet filter. User data is stored with encryption in persistent storage mode between sessions. An ISO image has been prepared, capable of running in Live mode, with a size of 1 GB.
In the new version:
- In the Tor Browser, saving files to the Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos directories is allowed, as well as transferring files from these directories.
- In case of damage to the persistent storage, an attempt to recover the file system is implemented after unlocking it on the welcome screen when logging in.
- When cloning the persistent storage, write speed visualization is provided.
- Attempts to unlock or delete persistent storage on USB drives that are accessible only in read-only mode have been removed.
- Versions of Tor Browser 13.0.9 and Thunderbird 115.7 have been updated.
