There are at least two reasons why the Patriot Viper VP4300 Lite is so interesting. First, it's an affordable non-buffered drive with linear read speeds exceeding 7 GB/s. Second, it uses a Chinese controller and Chinese NAND flash memory, a combination we haven't seen before.
