A new version of the Glukalka emulator is available for download.
Glukalka is the only open-source ZX-Spectrum emulator for PC Linux/Windows, Mac, and Android, whose ports are not third-party products with varying functionality and weak synchronization with the main project. Emulated models: ZX-Spectrum 48, 128, Pentagon + Beta Disk Interface, ZS-Scorpion.
The new version of the emulator features a mobile app. Development was aimed at phones, but the emulator works satisfactorily on 7" tablets. The virtual joystick and virtual keyboard were designed for comfortable gameplay and support various screen sizes of mobile devices.
The newly added support for sectors other than 256 bytes and FDI format, along with some fixes in emulation, allowed the operation of iS-DOS and CP/M operating systems. The capability to generate NMI ('Magic Button', 'Shadow Service Monitor') is now available. It is possible to reset the music coprocessor sound dump to a file for further editing or listening. More settings and functions have been added, and disk writing has been accelerated. The emulator has become independent of any files, carrying all necessary resources within the executable file.
The emulator is over 22 years old and develops in 'spurts', not very actively. However, it has a demand and its own niche.
