The fifth corrective update of the Debian 12 distribution has been released, which includes accumulated package updates and installer fixes. This release contains 68 updates addressing stability issues and 42 updates resolving vulnerabilities. Notable changes in Debian 12.5 include updates to the latest stable versions of the dpdk, mariadb, postfix, qemu, systemd, and xen packages. Support for compressed kernel modules has been added in cryptsetup-initramfs.
Installation images for starting from scratch with Debian 12.5 have been prepared. Previously installed systems that are kept up-to-date receive the updates present in Debian 12.5 through the standard update installation system. Security fixes included in new Debian releases are made available to users as updates are released via the security.debian.org service.
At the same time, a new release of the previous stable branch Debian 11.9 is available, which includes 70 updates for stability issues and 92 updates for vulnerabilities. The packages dpdk, mariadb-10.5, nvidia-graphics-drivers, postfix, and postgresql-13 have been updated to their latest stable versions.
