The Linux From Scratch community announces the release of the book distribution LFS 12.1, also available Translation in Russian.
Key changes include updates to the toolchain with binutils-2.42 and glibc-2.39. In total, 43 packages have been updated since the last release, including Grub 2.12, Systemd 255, SysVinit 3.08, Openssl 3.2.1, Python 3.12, and others. The Linux kernel has been updated to version 6.7.4.
Other changes:
- Page numbering in PDF has been corrected (en, ru).
- In the text, when referencing man pages, an active hyperlink to man.archlinux.org is applied (en, ru).
- A multilib version of the translation has been added (ru; the translation will be uploaded once the original multilib version is released).
- Numerous bugs have been fixed, and extensive text revisions have been made to improve readability (en, ru).
- Commissioned repository LFS packages (ru).
