Testing has begun for the first beta release of the openSUSE Leap 15.6 distribution. This release is based on the core package set shared with the SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP 6 distribution and also includes some user applications from the openSUSE Tumbleweed repository. A universal DVD image is available for download, sized at 4.3 GB (x86_64, aarch64, ppc64les, 390x). The openSUSE Leap 15.6 release is expected on June 12, 2024. It is anticipated that openSUSE Leap 15.6 will be the final release in the 15.x series, with the openSUSE Leap 16 release planned on the ALP platform in 2025.
