As the U.S. Space Command reported at the time, on January 8, 2014, a meteorite identified as the first interstellar object to reach Earth fell into the ocean off the coast of Papua New Guinea. Later, this object became the focus of a group of scientists from the Galileo project searching for extraterrestrial technologies. They believed that the fallen body could very likely be an alien probe worth exploring. And they attempted to do so.
