In the next 15 years, Amazon plans to spend $148 billion on data centers, enabling it to cope with the anticipated explosive growth in demand for AI applications and other digital services, according to Bloomberg. Last year, the growth rate of AWS revenue fell to a record low as customers sought to cut costs and postponed modernization projects. Now their spending is starting to rise again, and Amazon is preparing for future expansion of data centers and negotiating power supply contracts. Amazon's planned spending on data centers exceeds the commitments of Microsoft and Google (Alphabet holding), although none of the companies discloses data center-related expenses as consistently as Amazon, Bloomberg noted. "We are significantly expanding our capacity," said Kevin Miller, Vice President of AWS, overseeing data centers the company. "I think this simply allows us to get closer to our customers."
