Four years after the last update of the 8.x branch, the release of the NetBSD 8.3 operating system has been published, marking the end of support for the netbsd-8 branch. Thus, the NetBSD 8.x branch received updates for 6 years. This release is categorized as a corrective update and includes fixes for accumulated issues related to stability and security identified since the release of NetBSD 8.2 in April 2020. For those who value new functionality, a significant release of NetBSD 10.0 was made available in March, and an update to NetBSD 9.4 was proposed in April.
