Quietly and subtly, version 9.8.0 of the PeaZip archive manager has been released. The new version adds a feature for selective extraction of individual files from the archive to specific locations directly in bookmarks, etc., without additional steps. A couple of themes have been added, the code has been cleaned up, and the project has been updated to compile using Lazarus 3.2, although it should still compile with versions 2.x, which should please fans of the Pascal language. A few interface improvements have been made, and three bugs have been fixed.
Otherwise, PeaZip remains a free and cross-platform hybrid of a multifunctional archive manager and a full-fledged file manager, supporting 234 file types, data encryption, themes, and translated into 30 languages. It can be a very handy tool for those who, due to work obligations or life circumstances, regularly deal with a variety of archive file formats.
