The release of the lightweight window manager IceWM 3.5.0 is available. IceWM provides full control through keyboard shortcuts, the ability to use virtual desktops, task panels, and application menus, and supports grouping windows using tabs. The window manager is configurable via a relatively simple configuration file, and theme support is available. Window grouping in tab form is supported. Built-in applets for monitoring CPU, memory, and traffic are available. Several third-party GUIs for customization, desktop implementations, and menu editors are being developed separately. The code is written in C++ and is distributed under the GPLv2 license.
Among the changes in the new version:
- A command line parameter "-i" ("--install") has been added for installing themes from the icewm-extra collection.
- In the address bar (integrated into the task panel for command input), the commands 'cd' and 'pwd' have been implemented, along with argument auto-completion for file names.
- Editing keys for the address bar have been documented.
- Compatibility with the NetBSD 10 operating system has been ensured.
