Daniel Robbins (drobbins) exhaled and published another statement about the fate of his Funtoo Linux distribution:
- Funtoo Linux will remain a personal project of the author, as Daniel actively uses it himself and is open to others using it as well.
- The project will receive periodic updates (approximately once a week), with the latest one already available. Among the packages for update are the latest versions of vscodium, google-chrome, firefox, zoom, and others.
- The community bug tracker and repository will not be restored.
- The project's forum and wiki will remain in read-only mode.
- The project's Discord will stay active, but Daniel recommends that users move to another platform for self-organization, like Reddit.
- Commercial hosting remains on Funtoo containers, but to save a container, you need to write to Daniel at drobbins@funtoo.org.
- Daniel remains open to technical assistance from 'serious people', but not from the community.
- Some time ago, Oleg returned to the project (Robbins does not mention the last name); according to some accounts, he was present on LOR. Daniel briefly mentions working on some infrastructure, in which Oleg is involved using funds received from commercial hosting. At some point, these projects will become publicly available.
