The Nginx project has announced the transition of development from using the Mercurial version control system to Git, moving the official repository to GitHub, and utilizing the GitHub Issues and GitHub Discussions platforms instead of the error tracking system trac.nginx.org and discussions in mailing lists. It is expected that the move to GitHub will simplify interaction with the community and attract external developers to participate in the project.
To receive changes from other contributors, the option to use pull requests has been implemented. The error tracking system trac.nginx.org has been set to read-only mode. To give developers and users time to adapt to the new structure, the option to submit patches and receive consultations via mailing lists will remain available until December 31, in addition to using GitHub.
