🥇Wine 9.20 and Wine Staging 9.20 Release

An experimental release of the open implementation of the Win32 API — Wine 9.20 has been published. Since the release of 9.19, 15 bug reports have been closed and 198 changes made.

The most significant changes:

The Capstone library has been integrated, enabling disassembly in WineDbg.
Support for the formats X8L8V8U8, A2W10V10U10, A8P8, V16U16, and Q16W16V16U16 has been implemented in D3DX9.
Support for static analysis using Clang and JUnit test reports has been added to the Gitlab-based continuous integration system.
The implementation of network session support has continued in the DirectPlay API.
The versions of the libraries used have been updated: faudio 24.10, mpg123 1.32.7, png 1.6.44, tiff 4.7.0, ldap 2.5.18, fluidsynth 2.3.6, xslt 1.1.42, and xml2 2.12.8.
Bug reports related to the operation of applications have been closed: Rhinoceros, Helicon Focus 8.2.0, Notepad++, Nikon NX Studio.
Bug reports related to game operations have been closed: Victoria 2, Just Cause, BeamNG.drive, Wargaming.net, KnightOfKnights.

Additionally, the Wine Staging 9.20 release has been formed, providing enhanced builds of Wine that include incomplete or risky patches not yet suitable for inclusion in the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging offers 357 additional patches. In the new Wine Staging release, synchronization with the Wine 9.20 codebase has been achieved and fresh changes from vkd3d have been transferred. The main Wine branch has included a fix that resolves an issue with rendering rotated and scaled text in win32u (a problem that has remained unresolved since 2013).

Moreover, the Proton Experimental branch has been updated, where Valve is developing a package based on the Wine codebase that allows running gaming applications on Linux that were originally created for Windows and listed in the Steam catalog.
