An experimental release of the open implementation of the Win32 API — Wine 9.22 has been published. Since the release of 9.21, 19 bug reports have been closed and 313 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- In the default configuration, the driver winewayland.drv is activated, allowing Wine to be used in environments based on the Wayland protocol without using XWayland and X11 components.
- Support for virtual screen mode (emulation of resolution and refresh rate settings) has been added.
- The implementation of network session support has continued in the DirectPlay API.
- Locale data has been updated to Unicode CLDR (Unicode Common Locale Data Repository) version 46.
- Locale settings application has been improved, which was ignored in some situations.
- A problem with stopping keyboard input event transmission after losing and regaining focus on a window displayed on a virtual desktop has been resolved.
- Bug reports related to the operation of applications have been closed: Steam, MS Office 2007, MS Office 2013, Cygwin, MusicBee, dedicatedServer.exe, LabOne 24.04, cmd.exe, Heidisql 7.0, FL Studio, Windows Movie Maker.
- Bug reports related to the operation of games have been closed: Dark Souls: Remastered, World Of Warcraft.
