On January 4th, after more than two years of development, the stable release of 2.2.1 of the cross-platform 2D CAD took place. LibreCAD, written in C++ using the Qt framework, and distributed under the GNU GPL 2 license.
List of major changes:
- Added experimental parabola creation.
- Added support for right-to-left writing systems (but work on digits is still needed).
- Added display of the hatch area in the existing hatches dialog.
- Added layer tree, pen palette, and many new drawing methods.
- Added line highlighting when hovering the cursor over objects.
- Added new tool DimArc.
- Refactored rendering implementation to improve performance and enhance appearance.
- Numerous improvements to the graphical interface and command line.
- A number of bugs have been fixed.
