The release of version 23.5 based on Debian distribution has taken place MX Linux, with improvements from the antiX project and its own packages. The distribution uses the sysVinit initialization system (systemd is optional) and its own tools for system configuration and installation.
In the new release:
- Synchronized with the Debian package base 12.9 Bookworm;
- Updated package versions: Linux 6.1.123, XFCE 4.20;
- Updated MX Raspberry Pi Respin (RPI);
- The MX Packageinstaller graphical package installer now shows screenshots from screenshots.debian.net, and there are many new packages available for installation in the 'test' repository;
- A warning has been added about attempting to enable persistent storage when booting from a read-only medium;
- Many, many (literally) bug fixes, as well as many, many improvements to translations.
