An experimental release of the open implementation of the Win32 API — Wine 10.1 has occurred. Since the release of 10.0, 35 bug reports have been closed and 342 changes have been made. Recall that starting from the 2.x branch, the Wine project switched to a version numbering scheme where each stable release results in an increase of the first digit in the version number (9.0.0, 10.0.0), while updates to stable releases are issued by changing the third digit (10.0.1, 10.0.2, 10.0.3). Experimental versions published during the preparation for the next significant release are released by changing the second digit (10.1, 10.2, 10.3).
The most significant changes:
- The crypt32 library has improved its handling of certificates. Issues with updating certificates for Battle.net have been resolved.
- The capabilities of the Print Provider subsystem and the prntvpt library, which provides functions for working with printers and managing printing, have been expanded.
- Development of the Bluetooth driver has continued. New calls BluetoothGetRadioInfo and BluetoothIsConnectable, BluetoothIsDiscoverable have been added.
- Support for Vulkan API version 1.4.307 has been provided.
- Support for UBR keys (Update Build Revision) has been added in winecfg.
- Bug reports related to the operation of applications have been closed: GameMaker 8, OpenGL Extensions Viewer 4.x, Moldex3D, Telegram, Rhinoceros 8.6, Paint Tool SAI 2, 7zFM, reMarkable, SteuerErklarung 2025, osu!, Reason.
- Bug reports related to the operation of games have been closed: Battlefield: Bad Company 2, StarCraft 2, Heroes of Might and Magic III: In the Wake of Gods, Final Fantasy XI Online, SudoCue.
