The release of the PaleMoon browser v33.6.0 has occurred. It includes bug fixes and security improvements.
Changes:
- A content parser for ADTS and raw AAC audio has been implemented;
- AbortSignal.abort() has been implemented and AbortSignal.timeout() has been stubbed;
- The :modal prefix for the CSS pseudo-class has been removed;
- The efficiency and performance of the Cycle Collector have been improved;
- A check for explicit percentage values in CSS HSL for components S and L has been added;
- The cookie storage database has been updated, eliminating the need for BaseDomain;
- CSS grid handling has been updated: it is now possible not to apply automatic minimum size changes when a maximum size flex change is made (depending on the browser);
- Root certificates in the internal trusted certificate store have been updated;
- The list of public suffixes (eTLD) in the browser has been updated;
- Unofficial branding has been restored, which was previously present ('New Moon' instead of 'Browser');
- The default Firefox compatibility user agent version has been changed to 115.0;
- A bug has been fixed that caused cloned
- A number of bugs and specification compliance issues in WebCrypto have been fixed;
- The installer application naming issue leading to the inability to detect the running application has been corrected;
- A crash that occurred with interval handlers in scripts automatically terminating due to excessive execution time has been fixed;
- A crash in structured cloning JS when the input was faked (crash caused by CloudFlare) has been fixed;
- A crash in XSLT stylesheet import code has been corrected;
- NSS has been updated to version 3.90.6;
- A security issue has been fixed: CVE-2025-1009.
ImportantWhen updating the browser to this version, a one-way cookie database update is performed in the browser profile upon first launch. The new cookie database is not backwards compatible, meaning profiles updated by this version or later cannot be used with any previous versions of the browser without data loss.
