An experimental release of the open implementation of the Win32 API — Wine 10.2 has been published. Since the release of 10.1, 20 bug reports have been closed and 269 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- The built-in Vkd3d package with the implementation of Direct3D 12 has been updated to version 1.15.
- Support for thread priority settings has been added.
- The ability to dynamically enable the Wow64 mode (64-bit Windows-on-Windows) has been implemented, allowing 32-bit Windows applications to run on 64-bit Unix systems.
- Development of the Bluetooth driver has continued.
- Bug reports related to the operation of applications: Wordpad, cmd have been closed.
- Bug reports related to the operation of games: Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy XI Online, Guild Wars, MSWT Kart 2004, YOU and ME and HER, Myst, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice have been closed.
Additionally, the release of the vkd3d 1.15 package implementing Direct3D 12, which works through call translation to the Vulkan graphics API, can be noted. The package includes libraries libvkd3d with the Direct3D 12 implementation, libvkd3d-shader with a translator for shader models 4 and 5, and libvkd3d-utils with functions to simplify the porting of Direct3D 12 applications, as well as a set of demonstration examples, including porting glxgears to Direct3D 12. The project code is distributed under the LGPLv2.1 license.
In the new version of the HLSL shader language compiler, support for tessellation shaders has been further implemented, and function overloading detection has been improved. The function vkd3d_queue_signal_on_cpu() has been added to libvkd3d. Built-in functions for HLSL have been implemented: GatherCmp(), GatherCmpAlpha(), GatherCmpBlue(), GatherCmpGreen(), GatherCmpRed(), InterlockedAdd(), InterlockedAnd(), InterlockedCompareExchange(), InterlockedCompareStore(), InterlockedExchange(), InterlockedMax(), InterlockedMin(), InterlockedOr(), InterlockedXor(), and isinf().
