The release of the NetworkManager configuration utility 1.52.0 has taken place.
Key changes compared to version 1.50.0:
- The command history in nmcli will be stored in $XDG_CACHE_HOME/nmcli-history instead of the previously used ~/.nmcli-history.
- A new parameter ipv4.link-local=fallback has been added, which assigns an IPv4 address to the internal network interface in situations where no other address is specified.
- Support for building with Autotools has been removed.
- Support for the IPVLAN network interface has been added.
- Support for DHCPv4 option IPv6-only preferred is now available.
- Automatic addition of routes to DNS servers is supported with ipv4.routed-dns and ipv6.routed-dns options.
- DNS servers can be specified using URI syntax (useful for DNS over TLS).
- An option rd.net.dns has been added to the initrd-generator.
- Support for the dnscanon option in the DHCP client has been removed.
- Support for the Shared option for IPv6 configuration has been added to nmtui.
