Experts from the payment service 'YuKassa' (part of 'YuMoney') and the virtual mobile operator 'SberMobile' have determined which smartphone brands are the most popular among Russian consumers. The composition of the top five leaders from last year remains unchanged, but the ranking has shifted.
The manufacturer of the most popular smartphones in Russia is Apple, which has risen from third place in the ranking to first, taking the leading position away from Xiaomi — the Chinese manufacturer is now second, while Samsung is in third place. Huawei smartphones rank fourth in popularity in Russia, and Realme comes in fifth; this segment has not changed since last year.
Notably, Russian preferences depend on age: consumers aged 18 to 35 more frequently choose Apple products; buyers over 35 prefer Xiaomi products. Demand for electronics in Russia is growing, according to YuKassa, as this segment remains one of the fastest-growing markets. Last winter saw an 83% year-over-year growth in turnover in this category; the number of transactions doubled.
At the same time, the average check decreased by 11%, reaching 17,133 rubles. Experts believe this effect is due to electronics sales, although, in general, buyers have started to choose products with more modest price tags more often.
