The release of the GIMP 3.0.2 graphics editor has been announced, addressing several issues identified following last week's initial release of the GIMP 3.0 branch. Among other things, conflicts with certain system themes that led to improper interface display have been resolved. The developers also rolled back a patch with improved support for graphic tablets, as issues with pressure sensitivity were encountered on some older devices. Ready builds have been published for Linux (AppImage and Flatpak for x86 and ARM64 architectures), macOS, and Windows.
Currently, developers are focused on fixing bugs in the GIMP 3.0 branch. However, the development of the next significant release, GIMP 3.2, has been initiated, which is expected to support new features for non-destructive layer work — link layers and vector layers. Work will also continue on expanding support for the CMYK color model and color management in the GIMP 3.2 branch.
